A Fishing We Will Go...

The Anderson's invited us fishing Saturday evening. It was SO much fun for all the kids! The Little Andersen's were there as well as the Godfrey's made an appearance near the end! The girls each caught a couple of fish and were SO happy about it. We of course didn't keep them. We gave them to the Little Andersen's to take home.
Hannah wasn't wanting to hold the fish that she caught. It was very funny to watch!
Jake showing us how big his fish is he caught!
Elizabeth with her fish!
Jake once again fighting one of his kids to hold a fish! Is it wrong that I found this SO very funny?
Jace FINALLY would hold the line with the fish on it as long as it didn't move or touch him, if it did he would freak out!
Enoch had NO problems holding ALL the fish!
Abby's first fish of the day!
The Anderson's weren't the only parents that had to force a kid to touch a fish!
We had a REALLY fun day and can't wait for our next fishing trip!

Strawberry Days 2013

Strawberry Days are my favorite of the summer days up here in Utah! I really love this about where we live, it is very small town feel. On Friday night Cory asked me to go with her to cut strawberries. Her ward got the assignment and she was having trouble finding anyone to go. So I said I would go and cut, even though I had no idea what that entailed! We got to the Lion's Club building in PG at around 4:30 (we were late) and all we had to do was cut off the tops of strawberries! Of course there were thousands and thousands of strawberries! We sat down at a table and got to work. We met really nice people and just sat and talked while cutting off the tops of all of these yummy strawberries that we didn't get to eat. They were for the famous PG Strawberries N' Cream that they sell at the fair and the rodeo! All of Strawberry Days is ran on a Volunteer basis! I guess every year a few liquor companies come to them offering to do ALL the work all they have to do is let them sale liquor at the rodeo and fair. PG says no every year and so they have find people from the community and surrounding communities to help out! I love this, it gives us as a community the opportunity to work together, and it keeps the liquor companies out of our events. A couple of years ago Josh went and worked at the Rodeo and loved it. Of course he got to eat as many burgers as he wanted so that might be the reason he liked it so much!
This is my hand after I washed it! The red was there for only a day but it took a few washes to get out!
This is just ONE of the Many trash cans that got filled up with our tops!  My hands hurt so much after the few hours that I was there but it was fun. Adam came at the end and took my place so I didn't feel so bad leaving Cory there alone! I don't know how long Cory and Adam stayed but they kept going! It is definitely something that I would like to do again!
The next morning was the parade! We were very sad that the Gurney's weren't there this year, being on a family trip I guess I can let that go! But we did get Hannah, one of the office secretaries, and her husband and friend to come and join us. The girls were so excited to have them come they demanded they sit right next to Hannah!
Adam came with the kids which made it that much better! The parade is always more fun to watch with the more kids you have with you!
After we got our traditional corndogs and nachos! And ate on the grass before Josh went down the street to the car show while I took the girls to ride some rides!
The girls are getting SO big that they are no longer wanting to ride the"baby" rides as they call them now. I remember when they would think those "baby" rides were the BIG rides! They got to go on about 4 or 5 rides before we were out of tickets and I was tired!
I am sad that Strawberry Days are over but I guess there is next year to look forward to!

Happy Birthday Sister Woolf!

We love Sister Woolf and she LOVEs all the kids! We made her a sign and sang to her for her birthday. The kids got to help make the sign, which they LOVED and so did she. My girls got SO excited to go and give her, her sign and to sing to her that they got up early that morning and finished most of their chores just so they could go with me to wish her a happy birthday! If that is the way to get my girls to get things done fast we need to have Lynae's birthday EVERYDAY!
Happy Birthday my friend, you are both beautiful inside and out!

Dinosaur Museum

My VERY sweet neighbor across the street invited me and my girls to go with her and two of her daughters and their kids to the Lehi Dinosaur Museum the other day. I just love the Winn family they are just the nicest people. And my girls love their granddaughter. My girls had so much fun looking at all of the things there. We have only been there once so the girls had to stop and see EVERYTHING, and asked me to read almost all of the signs! They must get this from me. I LOVE to read and look at ALL the things to see what is there. This drives Josh somewhat crazy, especially when I make him stop at EVERY historical site or plaque that we see on the side of the road! So I am guessing that the girls get this from me.
Thank you Winn Family for the fun times!

Back Tracking...

At the beginning of June we went down to Vegas to go to our niece's baptism. I can't believe that Saylor is old enough to get baptized...I know that this is an "old person" thing to say but I remember when she was born and going to see her for the first time and listening to Jason and Noelle fight over what to name her! She looked SO beautiful, I stole this picture off of my sister-in-laws mother's Facebook page I took my camera down that weekend but for some reason it really never came out of the bag I put it in!!

I really had a lot of fun, even though I was not feeling good pretty much the whole time down. We hung out at Jason and Noelle, which we don't usually do, we usually are at Mark and Trudy's the whole time. While over there one of the young women that Noelle has hanging around her house had a go-cart...and wouldn't you know it ALL the boys ran out to get a ride in it. Yes the adults where pushing the kids out of the way so that they could get a ride. I ran out, (well I call it running) to catch a picture with my phone of Josh! It was so funny it was like a clown in a clown car! You just expected to hear the clown music playing as he would drive by!

One of the nights we got sitters for ALL the kids and went out to dinner! We went to Lucilles BBQ, which I have been craving for EVER! It was SO good! However, I don't think that Laura will be sitting by Josh anytime in the future while eating BBQ, or anything for that matter. I now know where my kids get their bad eating habits from! All I have to say is that I've tried!!!
It was a very fun weekend to spend with family.

See How Our Garden Has Grown!

I am amazed how our garden is growing! I have learned a few things....such as when planting seeds I do not have the patience needed to NOT pick the weeds around where I planted seeds therefore picking the plants by mistake! Josh gets mad at me when I am weeding and I don't know if it is a plant from a seed that I planted or a weed. He tells me to wait and see but I don't like the weeds in my garden and can't resist picking! So most of my seed plants that I planted will not be showing up this year! Ooopps! I think I am better off sticking with starter plants that I already know are plants to keep! Also with seeds I made the mistake of just dumping a bunch of seeds in one hole instead of spreading them around...yes I know that this is a stupid mistake, but at the time when I was planting I was tired and hurting and wanted it over with! Oooopps again! But I have to say the plants that were planted not by seed are doing GREAT! We have already gotten 6 Strawberries! My mom thinks that this is a lot of work for just 6 strawberries, but the girls really like to pick and eat them so I think that it's fun!
All I have to say is thank heaven's for automatic watering systems...without them I don't think this garden would be doing as well as it is!

Abby Has Begun Her Piano Career

Abby has begun piano lessons! She is SO excited to start piano. I took her to her lesson this week and when we got there I asked her if she wanted me to come in with her. She thought about it for a while and said, "No, sister doesn't need you to go in with her so I will be a big girl and do it by myself!" This was a MAJOR deal for this kid. She was SO nervous to go and I knew that she wanted me to go with her, but she wanted to be like her sister and be big! So I sat in the car and waited for her to be done. She got her new piano books and needed a bag to put all of her new piano stuff in, so we went to Hobby Lobby and I let her pick out a canvas bag that she could decorate with fabric pens. She decorated the whole bag all by herself! I am so proud of my big girl! She is growing up so fast and she LOVES to practice the piano. Now if that lasts I will be one happy mom!
