Last Game Of The Season!

Saturday was Elizabeth's last game of this season. I would like to say that they won a game but I don't think that they did. In fact I don't even think that they came close to winning a single game. Oh well maybe next season. Yes there is going to be another season of Elizabeth running around in circles and waving up at us. I do have to say she has improved from the first game. She only sat down once on the field during play to take a rest, she kicked the ball from one end to the other (however when she got to the end to make a goal she sort of gave up and gave the ball to the other team), she didn't make any goals for the other team, and she only asked to be taken out once! At the end of this game her coach gave each of the kids a medal for playing it was so dang cute that I almost cried!
This is a picture of Elizabeth and her little friend from our neighborhood.

Abby's Christmas Gifts

I was wrapping some presents the other day while Elizabeth was at school. Abby came down stairs to ask what I was doing. I told her that I was wrapping presents for other people. She watched for a little while then ran up stairs. After a few minutes she came down with one of her book and some white paper wrapped around it. I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was wrapping a gift for daddy. I said, "Um...we are going to go get him something at the store." She said, "No I already got him this Pooh book...see mom I already wrapped it." So what could I say besides, "Ok I think he will love it!"
Oh and by the way I wouldn't let her use my tape because her and her sister waste all of it taping up their pictures, so she used a glue stick! So that back paper is glued to the top paper to cover up the book! If nothing else the girl is resourceful! And no worries she has wrapped up books for everyone! Now she does ask for them back so there is a little bit of an Indian giver in her, but what do you expect she does have a little bit of that Indian blood.

Traditions!

For the last few years it has been a tradition for the women in the Tippetts family to suffer the cold, the crowds, and go without sleep for the greater good of a SALE! These four little letters have driven women who would not normally fight over a $3.00 toy, become aggressive, determined hunters! I am speaking of the greatest sale day ever BLACK FRIDAY!We used to just get up around 3 am to make it to a few stores...What amateurs we were. We now have discovered that if we start about 9:30 pm the night before we can truly torture ourselves better! So about 9:30 pm on Thanksgiving we got bundled up in our warm comfortable clothes, (Comfort is essential if there is any running...which I am a tiny bit embarrassed to admit there was) and set forth our plans! We took two cars just in case someone couldn't last the duration of the event ( This is not for the weak!) We got to the outlets in high spirits. We have it down to a system. We shop for a while when we are getting close to being done someone (usually Trudy) stands in line while the rest of us finish going through the merchandise and then join the line when we are done! We did ok at the outlets, however I do feel bad for Laura we visited ALOT of kids stores and very little big people stores, needless to say I think that Laura was getting bored! After that we went over to ToysRUs but the line was already too long so we decided we would go eat! You must always remember to refuel when taking on a task like Black Friday! Denny's was open so around 1:30 am or so we sat down to eat! By the end of our meal Laura was falling asleep and her journey was over. She went home and the rest of us were off to ToysRUs. Now you can always find improvements in any great plan, and next year we will be bringing "just in case" camp chairs and "just in case" blankets! We had to stand in line at Target for about an hour and a half! Can I just say Vegas gets COLD!!! By 5 am we were back awake and making our run for our assignments in Target! Yes I said run because we did run a little! Then we waited in line for another hour or so. After Target, with bags in hand we headed home!

I think that after every Black Friday we always say we don't think we want to do that again! But come next year we always do, it's tradition and you don't mess with tradition!

2 Down...

Last week Elizabeth came to me and told me that her tooth was loose. I looked at it and saw that it was still hanging on by what I thought was quite a bit but she told me to just pull it out. I told her that she should just wiggle it some more and maybe that night dad could help her, because there was no way I was pulling anything out. About 2 minutes later she came back to me with her mouth bleeding and her tooth in hand. She said, "I just pulled it, I couldn't wait!" This kid has a pain threshold that amazes me! The tooth fairy came that night with a dollar. She was so excited. Later that day the Papa toothfairy came and upstaged our toothfairy by giving her five dollars! Needless to say I think she is wondering what is wrong with our toothfairy!
