A Whole Lot Of Firsts!

This week has been filled with a whole lot of firsts for us! And I know, it's only Tuesday! Well actually my story is going to start on Saturday night but really who's to say my week doesn't start there, they all run into each other for me anyway!
So Beth aka: Elizabeth: still trying to remember to call her that, asked us about a week ago if she could buy a fish with her own money. She had some money from Easter and from Grandma Trudy, thanks alot, by the way! And if you know us we are NOT PET PEOPLE! So naturally we said no. She asked and asked so then we said you will have to ask Nana, because it is her house, and knowing that she of all people was NOT A PET PERSON too she would say no, well... that didn't happen. Like all women who become grandmas the word no, that they were soooo familiar with when we were young, simply doesn't seem to be apart of their vocabulary any more! So Josh and I just looked at each other and thought it could be worse she could want something you really had to take care of and said she could have a fish, but she had to take care of it and pay for everything!! To say the girl was excited is just not the right word, she was jumping out of her seat when we got to Walmart and had to find an employee herself and ask if she could get a fish. She did it all by her self!! She picked 5 fishes and got a bowl with some decorations for it and some food and she left Walmart a pet owner! She feeds them and talks to them and even answers back for them! She gives them kisses at night and yes her and Abby pray for them every time they say a prayer! They pray that they don't die! She has named each of them. Their names are Bubbles, Orange, Shinny, Lizzy, and Lily! Just just sits and watches them swim and talks to them!

On Monday was our next 1st adventure. For Family Home Evening we went on a family bike ride all together. Josh got a bike this year for his birthday, and yes I do know that his birthday is May 13 and it hasn't happened yet, but Abby already told him, she can't keep a secret, so we thought we would give it to him now so we could enjoy the good weather now! So we all went out together, oh and there is not a picture of me because I didn't like how it turned out and really I'm the one writing this blog so it didn't make the blog! We made it around the neighborhood when Beth looked down and she had injured her ankle! Yes there was blood everywhere and got down into her shoe. Funny thing is she didn't even know it was there until she looked down and then it was like her whole leg was injured and she could no longer function! Drama! But it was fun and we look forward to more family bike rides!

Tuesday Morning marked the 1st day of my mom's return to school! Claudia Cole is a BYU student!!! She was a little nervous and we spent yesterday finding her classes on a map and where to park. I am just so proud of her for going back to school and finishing her education. This morning I woke up early, well early for me just to catch her before she left to get her back to school picture and make sure she remembered to be nice to all the kids even the one's that don't have any friends! We all have teased her about the importance of focusing on her studies and not on the 24 year old boys!!! Mom you will do great!!!

By Tuesday afternoon we were holding our first pet funeral!! Bubbles is DEAD! I had to pick up Beth from school today only to inform her that Bubbles was in fact dead. We wondered this morning why she wasn't coming out of her house and just lying there. I went on the internet to find out what was up with her fish! And yes she died! I have only one word, TEARS!!! Lots and lots of tears. Beth was beside her self with grief over her beloved gold fish! Abby however was just excited to be digging in the ground and did pull off a few fake cries! But now Bubbles is berried underneath the tree in the back yard and will always be remembered! All I can say is that Josh is in charge of the next death of a pet, because my giggles were not helping!

Abigail Turns 6!

Abby turned 6 on Saturday April 14th. We had a family party for her on Friday night, because Cory and Adam had a wedding to go to on Saturday and Abby wanted her cousins to be there for her party. However she did think that ALL of her cousins would be there. I think after Elizabeth's baptism with all the cousins there she thought that was a good idea to have everyone come up for her birthday too! She quickly got over it after seeing the cake and gifts and was happy with all of us that did attend! Abby picked out everything that night, down to the Kraft Mac & Cheese that we had for dinner! Yes when given the opportunity to have ANYTHING she wants this is what she picks!

In our family, I don't know how this has become a tradition but it has, when opening your gifts you get to sit on this little chair in the middle of the room while everyone watches. We were going to start without this chair and Abby was not having it!

Abby asked for Lego Friends so that is what she got ALOT of little pieces of Lego Friends! She also got a pair of roller skates.
On Saturday we told her she could plan the day after we got our chores done at the Lindon house. She planned it out like so... First we go to U-Swirl, which is my new favorite FroYo place, Josh tried to talk her out of that and to go to ice cream instead but the girl new what she wanted to do. Then we went to the roller skating rink! And yes she got Josh and I to roller skate, and no I didn't take any pictures! After our painful experience roller skating, we went to the Grape place, better known as The Olive Garden because she wanted Mac & Cheese again! She was so tired by the end and started getting sick with a cold that we went home after and straight to bed. All and all it was a good birthday!

Elizabeth Gets Braces!

During Spring Break Elizabeth had her appointment to get her Braces on! She was so excited to go and do this you would of thought that she was going to Disneyland how excited she was. Even though she doesn't admit it now that she was excited, I think part of that is her teeth hurt and it is hard to eat, but she should get used to that. But here are some pictures of her one is right after she got them on and one is a day or two later. It is amazing her teeth have already moved so much!

More Easter...

The Hunt...We like to take pre-pictures before the hunt, everyone is so happy and excited! The extra kid is our neighbor, she came over for the hunt! Yes our egg hunt is so good that everyone wants to participate!

If you are wondering why I took a picture of a tree, look close Elizabeth is in it to get an egg she couldn't reach off the ground!

The Count...I think every family must have the count up of eggs after a hunt. In my day we would count how many eggs we got and what we got in them to see who the clear winner was, and by the way it was ALWAYS Celeste!!! Now our counting has become somewhat less competitive, each kid empties their eggs into their bags and we collect the eggs so we can use them next year. This year we had less candy and more money and I put squinkies in some, this is what Abby is showing everyone in this picture!

And thus ends another year of Easter Bunnies and Egg Hunts!

The World According To Abby...

We are sitting down starting to play The Game of Life when we are picking out our cars...
Abby: I'm going to be a boy to start with, because when I get to this point (pointing to the marriage point) then the girl can just hop in!
Then looking at whether to go to collage or just get a job...
Abby: I don't need to go to collage because I don't need a job my husband is going to work!!!
A little bit later...
Abby: I guess my girl can go to collage because the mom and dad can work but I'm not going to!
A little bit later...
Abby: I will need a house because we can't just live in the wild. I would like to live in a barn!!

I love the thought process of little children!

Easter 2012

I took some pictures of the girls this morning in their Easter dresses. They look so cute! I love Easter and spring with the fun dresses. We only had one fight about shoes and it wasn't with the kid you would think. Abby was not liking the shoes I picked out for this dress. I just got over fighting with one kid over shoes and now the next one is starting! It just never ends!!! And yes they felt that they needed a picture with their dolls.

School Easter Parties

This last Friday was both Elizabeth's and Abby's School Class Easter Party. Abby's was first in the morning. I was a half of an hour late to it because I thought it started at 11am but no it started at 1030. So I showed up late with my supplies and got to work on my egg decorating station. I know I was thinking mother of the year too, but what is new! Abby was so excited that I showed up she had been telling her teacher that I was coming.
SIDE NOTE: I was talking with Abby's teacher and she was telling me about how Abby really loves the monkey bars. I told her that I know she gives me the monkey bar report every day after school. Mrs. Godfrey (her teacher) went on to tell me how impressed she was of Abby that she has been watching her everyday at recces and at the beginning of the year Abby would just stand their and stair at the monkey bars. She wouldn't go on anything else she would just watch the monkey bars. Then she started to try the monkey bars and it has taken her all year but now she can go forwards and backwards and even skip a bar. She told me that she has not seen a kid with that much focus and determination to get something done in a long time. And that she was amazed that she didn't give up or get distracted by other things to play on. It was interesting to hear about her from her teacher's perspective.
So anyway these are some pictures from Abby's Easter Party...

This is the best room mom ever she goes all out for class parties. I got her to dress up like a bunny for this one by just mentioning that it would be cool if she did! This is Kate, it may not look like it but Abby just loves Kate! Here is the whole class with the Easter Bunny. Abby told me that it wasn't the real Easter Bunny because she could see her hair and that it was Kennedy's mom, I'm so glad she cleared that up for me!Elizabeth's class party was in the afternoon and I wasn't late for that one! Yeah me! My sister Cory was so nice to come and help me out with my station. Her and another mom painted all the kids faces like bunnies while I helped them make bunny ears with some of the other parents.
SIDE NOTE about Elizabeth: I have learned that her friends at school don't call her Elizabeth they call her Lizzy, but she has told us that she doesn't want to be called Lizzy at home, she doesn't mind it at school with her friends but we could call her Beth! I have tried to call her this but it just doesn't roll out of my mouth. I like the name Beth I think it's cute....I guess I just have to try a little harder! Her class went outside to have some bunny hop races. Before the race I took a class picture of them. Another party off the list of things to do...check. Both parties went well and the girls had fun.
