Lindon Elementary Walk-A-Thon

Last week was Lindon Elementary first Walk-A-Thon! The girls were so excited to do their walking. Each grade was assigned a different hour to walk around the track. At the end of their hour they got a Popsicle. Abby was up first in the day when I got to the school however I couldn't find her anywhere on the track. Knowing that I did drop her off for school I started to ask around what happened to her. She had fallen in the first lap and cut her knee and was sent to the office. By the time she came back out her grade was done walking\running around the track, and Abby was crying because she missed the whole thing. With a Popsicle and a promise to come back for sister's walking she got over it. We came back in the afternoon for Elizabeth's and walked with her. She complained the whole time that she was tired and didn't want to walk anymore. So I made her run around a few of the laps! We cheered her on and at the end they got Popsicles again and I watched my girls play on the playground. It was a really fun fundraiser.

Monday Night At the Skating Rink!

Monday night Lindon Elementary had it's Skating Night. The girls were so excited to go and use roller skates for the first time ever! It started out a bit rocky with more time spent on the floor then rolling on two feet. But after a lot of time practicing on the carpet the girls finally started to pick the skill up. By the end of the night they didn't need Josh or I quit as much and didn't spent as much time on the ground. We had a fun night so fun when it was time to take the skates off and go home Abby started to cry because she said she intended to go around the rink just one more time. With a promise that we will go back so the girls can get better, we could leave the rink without too many tears. Here are some pictures I took with my phone some of Elizabeth's friends jumped into the last picture. I'm still trying to figure out my phone camera so the pictures aren't that good!

Elizabeth's Never Ending Birthday!

Elizabeth's birthday lasted for I think a whole week. I guess that's how it goes when you are turning 8! February 28 was Elizabeth's birthday. She woke up at 2:30am that morning with a fever and a cough! Yes Elizabeth was sick! And not to be topped by her sister, Abby at about 5:30am that morning also woke up with a fever and cough! Elizabeth was so sad not to be going to school that day. I was going to go into her classroom and bring cupcakes and tell great things about Elizabeth to her classmates. Instead I was taking care of two sick kids also preparing a house for guests! The girls were doing pretty good throughout the day so I though great they just caught a 24 hour thing and will be good by tomorrow...nope Abby decided to lay down for a nap and woke up 30 minutes into her nap screaming and crying that her throat was going to kill her! So at that point I thought it was time to go to the doctors. Luckily I got right in at 4:30pm, I gathered up both sick girls and drove over to the doctors office. Sitting in the office the girls had to wear masks because they both had fevers and were coughing, they didn't like that. While sitting there Elizabeth gets a bloody nose EVERYWHERE, And if any of you have ever experienced one of Elizabeth's bloody noses you know they will take up a LOT of tissues. So I'm frantically trying to stop her bloody nose, Abby starts to cry and wants me to hold her. And yes not a single person in that office stops to help a mother out! We finally get called back to see the doctor and found out why Abby was crying so much she had a fever of 104! And they both had strep throat! We opted to do the one time shot in the butt to just get it over with...big mistake with 2 kids and 1 mother...yeah they were both screaming and crying and the nurses just hand them to me. So I'm trying to comfort my crying kids in an office alone and at the same time get them to put their shoes on so that we can get going! At that point I just sat in that room and started to cry with them, I figured if you can't beat them join them! We finally got home and that night when Josh got home we had a small birthday party with Elizabeth. She had a cupcake, Abby couldn't bring herself to eat one, and we opened gifts. Abby just laid on me while watching Elizabeth opened her birthday gifts.
The girls got better each day and by Thursday they were ready to go back to school, yeah! On Friday I went into Elizabeth's class and at least brought the cupcakes that she wanted me to bring. Didn't get to tell any great stories about her though, but she was OK with that. By Friday night we were waiting for family to come into town for the Baptism on Saturday! Elizabeth was so excited that ALL of her cousins were going to be there for her day.
We talked with Elizabeth, extensively about how to act on the day of her Baptism. Not to be picking her nose, or lifting up her dress to pull up her tights, but to thank everyone personally for coming to her day...Ya that didn't go over so well. Even though she did do pretty good she kept yawning during everyone talks like we were keeping her up or something! All that aside she was beautiful and the whole day was wonderful. I already knew I was a crier at Baptisms but found out that when its my own kid I just don't stop crying! It was just perfect. Josh baptized her and confirmed her. She wore the baptism jumper that my mom made for Cory and I to wear when we were baptized. And Isabelle wore it last year when she got baptized, Abby is so excited for her turn to wear it!
We had so many friends and family come that it was just wonderful. Here are just a couple of the pictures that were taken that day. I feel bad because by the time we decided to take a family picture my family side of the family wasn't there anymore except for Bryce and my mom, but here they are....We just wanted to thank everyone that came to support Elizabeth on this day. We really appreciate it and love you so much!
