Sometimes Kids Can Surprise You, And Sometimes...Well....

The other day I was driving with my two sweet little angels and my mother. My mom and I were talking about Christmas and what the girls wanted. Abigail has declared that her nana is going to give her the Pottery Barn pink polka dot baby stroller, the baby doll and the babies diaper bag full of the accessories!!! If anyone has ever shopped or looked in a Pottery Barn you know that it's not the cheapest place to go to. My mom and I were talking in the car while the girls where playing in the back seat, I didn't think they were even listening. We were saying that it is going to be a smaller Christmas this year, due to the economy and lack of money, and how expensive the Pottery Barn stuff is. And how she was not going to spend a lot of money on all the grandkids.
Later that day, I was in the car with just me and the girls. Elizabeth said, "Mom, you can tell Nana that all she needs to get me for Christmas is an ornament. That way she can get the baby doll and stroller for Abby!" My heart just melted by my sweet angel's sacrifice for her sister. And then it was quickly brought back into reality by Abby when she just as quickly chimed in to indicate that she thought that was a good idea, because she was getting that baby and stroller!

Miracles Do Happen!

Elizabeth Smiled! After arguing with her the whole morning about what she was going to wear and whether or not she would smile, I am so happy to report that my little angle gave in and smiled for her kindergarten pictures! Now I know that I am a little bias, being the mother and all...but isn't this the cutest kindergarten picture you have ever seen in your life?!!? After seeing this picture I forgot all about how I wanted to give the kid away earlier that morning! Never underestimate the power of a very cute kid!

Let The Games Begin!

Saturday was Elizabeth's first Soccer Game of the Season! Yes the child who trips over air is playing soccer. Josh is very excited by this and as soon as he found out that she wanted to play soccer he rushed her down to the local sports store to get all she would need for soccer (I had to talk him down from buying the whole soccer section in the store for her)! I got to say he didn't get this excited over her wanting to do dance...but I guess its a guy thing!
It is indoor soccer and they play on this mini field. There is only two girls on the team and they are called the Blue Blizzards. The game only has 2- 15 minute halves. But that is plenty of time to get the kids tired. It was the funniest thing to watch. She lost her first game but I don't even think that she noticed! She got tired within the first 15 minutes and she didn't play the entire time. The kids basically run up and down the field in a group kicking the ball. There was quit a bit of yelling "NO you're going the wrong way!" And one of our teams points was scored by the other team, but it was fun to watch and see. This is a picture of her friend on the team right before the game.

We really need to work on our picture taking skills because they all turned out like this fuzzy! But this of her getting ready to start the game. Doesn't she look so cute in her little soccer uniform!?!

Trick Or Treat Smell My Feet...

On Friday it was Elizabeth's Kindergarten Halloween Party! I was one of the mom helpers and got to go and see Elizabeth in action. It's fun to be able to see how your child acts in an environment that you are not used to seeing her in. I have found that my sweet little girl likes to chase the boys! Yes I said chase the boys. Apparently they were chasing her first and then she decided that to make them stop she would start to chase them! You can't really argue with that logic.
The Party was fun and I got to meet all the kids that I have been hearing about. Here are some pictures from the party....
After the party we went trick or treating to Josh's work. They were having a lunch and the office girls always have treats for the girls. This year I don't know how I did it but I got Josh to play the game and dress up for work, and not just dress up like a superintendent (aka: jeans and a t-shirt). I know, I know I ruined Josh's willingness to dress up after the peter pan costume but now I'm slowing working him back into the idea of dressing up. No tights this year but he did dress up like a golfer!
And can I just say that he makes a darn cute golfer!!! Next year I'm thinking that Him, Adam, and Celeste can dress up as one theme costume. What do you think...Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, and Peter Pan? We will have to slowly work back up to tights! Here is a picture of the whole office staff and the girls...
Saturday Night Josh took the girls out Trick Or Treating while I stayed home to pass out candy. I was sick with a cold so I sort of just handed the bowl of candy over to the kids that would come to the door and have them pick out their candy. I'm sad that I missed seeing the girls trick or treat but it didn't last long anyway after a block and a half or so the girls decided that they got enough candy and were tired and wanted to go home! When Josh got home I was talking outside with some friends of ours and we stayed outside talking, after a while we noticed that Abby was missing. We walked inside and Abby was sitting in the front room with her candy all out stuffing in as much candy as she could before we had a chance to regulate how much she could have...She's of the sort, it's better to ask for forgiveness then to ask for permission. Needless to say Abby was out of candy by Sunday evening and Elizabeth still has more then half her basket full of candy! All and all it has been a fun Halloween season...now the girls are already starting to ask when Christmas is...on to the next holiday!
