End Of School Year Teacher Gifts
End of the school year means end of school year teacher gifts. I'm not really sure why but it gives me an excuse to go onto pinterest and craft a new project. And I love crafty projects that come from pinterest. I saw this one and thought they were cute and super easy! I hope that they like them!

Piano Recital
Tonight was the girls Piano Recital. They did SO good and yes this is the only picture that they would let me take of them. I think that they are pictured out this week! An extra bonus Mark and Trudy came up from Vegas to see the girls in their performances. It was wonderful to have them come up here. The girls are so lucky to have such wonderful support from so many people in their lives. I only hope that they know and appreciate this.
They each earned their composers that they have been working towards. And Elizabeth received her National Guild Certificate, pin, and report card. It was a good night!

Dancing Fun!
This morning it was the Dance Festival and someone had the brilliant idea to ride our bikes to the school again. So Once again I rode to the school and made it just in time for the dancing. It was very cute. 2nd graders danced to the song What Does The Fox Say? And they all had fox masks on that they made in art. 4th Grade danced to the Song Pompeii. I love the dance festival, seeing all the kids from kindergarten to 6th grade dance their dances. Here are some pictures of the morning....
This is a picture of Hannah Dancing the Robot! She did it for a while with the music blasting in the background! Too CUTE!!

Lindon Pool Party!
Today was the Lindon Pool Day. I avoid going to this activity. I've gone once and that was enough. I'm not really a fan of sitting in the hot sun watching a bunch of kids swim, but I got to the school early to pick up the girls when they all got back from the pool and the fire department was there with their firetruck spraying all the kids with water. I found the girls to get some pictures of them. They said they had so much fun and that's all that really matters. This is Elizabeth's teacher who was a good sport to take a picture in her swimsuit with Elizabeth.
4th Grade Utah Program
Yesterday was the 4th Grade Utah Program. They sang songs and performed dances. It was very cute to see Elizabeth singing her little heart out and performing her square dance. She had to dance with a boy and was very nervous about it. But she did good! It has been fun for Elizabeth to learn all about Utah. And believe me we have ALL been hearing about it ALL year long!! They displayed all of the kids projects in the back of the gym and after we got to go see all of them. Elizabeth's project was on the Arches National Park. She built an Arch and I think she did a wonderful job!

Visiting Papa
On Sunday we all went up to visit my dad to beat the rush of people that would be at the graves on Memorial Day. Cory decorated his grave with flowers and the kids first showed us their dance festival moves then had a dance off. And if you are thinking... dance off at a cemetery...that's a little disrespectful! But if you knew my dad he would of LOVED it! He just loved watching these little kiddos perform anything! And their dance off was pretty good. I would say CAL won for actually keeping with the beat but Elizabeth gets an honorable mention for her enthusiasm. In true Tippetts style the girls found rocks to place on Papa's grave. Soon we all had rocks for him. It was a good Sunday activity to spend with the family and remember this great man.

Our Full Memorial Day
The day started out early this morning with Josh's gun and safety class! It all started on Saturday when him and I were at Walmart and we passed the gun aisle. He thought it would be the best idea to get the girls a BB gun. I told him he could but he would HAVE to sit down with the girls and teach them how to safely use it! He agreed and we got the gun. Cory and Adam were over that night and Adam thought that this was the best idea and asked if he and his kids could come to Josh's class. So come this morning Josh set up a firing range and they were off. The kids ALL loved it and had fun...well most of the kids I don't know how well Deacon liked it. I heard that he only shot the gun a couple of times and then was done, but for the rest of them it was a hit. Now Josh thinks that we need to get another BB gun so that each of the girls can have their own! I don't mind as long as they use it with Josh and ONLY Josh, because someone could shoot their eye out!
By the end they were hitting the targets and were so excited by this fact. After Gun and Safety we took it easy and I recruited the girls and Josh to help me roll hundred's of pennys. My Uncle died a few weeks ago and I ended up with his very large penny collection. So I've been rolling pennys for a few days now and have only made a small dent in this new project. The girls thought it was fun for the first hour then got a little less excited after hour two! I let them all stop after that mainly because we had to go meet the Big Anderson's for dinner then a hike. I am now rethinking the idea to eat such a heavy dinner before going on a hike, but we made it up to the waterfall and maybe worked off some of that cookie dessert that we all ate!
I'm happy that the Big Anderson's don't mind that I make them stop about every few feet to take a picture. I think after Moab they are used to this! And since they keep agreeing to go on hikes with us I take that as they enjoy the picture taking! I'm exhausted but the day was full of fun family memories so that makes it all worth it!

Bikes + Running = TIRED!
Every so often I get it in my mind that I can do ANYTHING! My friends wanted to ride our bikes to the school from my old neighborhood and watch the kids in their mini-marathon. I of course thought this to be a brilliant idea and added that we should run with the kids on their run! Wow...was it ever hard. And I would sure pay for it that night, but during the ride and run it was fun!
I just love that I get to see McKailee and Emilee when ever I come to the school. And I really love that they will run up to me and give me a hug! The first run was with the 4 through 6th graders. This is the first year I have had to go to both runs to see my kids. I can't believe they are growing up so fast. I decided to run with Abby during her run, thinking that I could totally keep up with the little kids. I forgot that those little kids have ALL the energy and can run forever! Every time Abby said that she had to walk for a bit, inside I was so happy! But we finished strong and ran the last bit.
For the rest of the day the kids had their field day full of games and outside activities. What a fun time of year it seems that everyday now they have some fun activity until the end of school!

4th Grade Pioneer Day
Yesterday was the 4th grade Pioneer Day. All the little 4th grades had to dress like a pioneer and then they went off to do pioneer stuff. They made fudge and built shelters, played games and walked and walked and walked! We borrowed an pioneer outfit from Cory and it was SO cute! I put breads in her hair and she borrowed an little leather backpack from me that looked old. She said that she had lots of fun, but was tired from all the walking that they did. And it shows in the blisters she has on her feet! Maybe next time she should just wear comfortable shoes instead of the ones that I thought looked cute with the outfit! Live and learn!!
Abby's 2nd Grade Class Talent Show
The other day was Abby's 2nd Grade Class Talent Show. Abby decided that she wanted to play the piano for her talent. I am sometimes surprised how bold she can be because she is SO shy at other times. But she insisted so I came! She did VERY well on her piece. I was one proud mommy!
I DID IT!
At the beginning of this year I decided that I wanted to run a 5K...I know crazy. When I told Josh he kind of just shook his head and I don't think believed me that my body would get me there. I started off slow...well very slow. I started off just walking. Yes my body couldn't even make it a mile walking, and on some days I could move just fine then the very next day not at all. This made it hard to train for anything. I would get up to "running", I call it running but lets be honest its more like jogging, then the next day couldn't move anymore and I would have to start all over again with training my body to "run" again. This pretty much went on the whole 4 months of training, but I had hope. I had been feeling pretty good and knew that if I just suffered through the painful moments that I could complete this goal of mine. Even though this body of mine doesn't always...well lets just say never really works the way I want it to...come May 10th I was ready. Some friends of ours were having a charity 5K run. They are adopting a sweet baby boy from China and lets just say adopting is expensive! I kind of looked at this run as a practice for the big 5k on July 4th that I plan to run with my sister, but I got to say for a practice 5K I was SO nervous. I had a dream the night before that I was the very last person to come in, and not only the last, so last that everyone was packed up and ready to leave but was just waiting for me to finish! I was also worried that I would have to do this early in the morning and I don't move so well early in the morning. But I did it!!! And I wasn't the last person. I completed the 5K in about 40 minutes. I know I'm not breaking any records but for me and this body of mine that was a record. After, I slept for the rest of the day and couldn't move so fast for a few days but I think it was all worth it. I feel good that I accomplished something that is very hard for me. Some friends of mine took some pictures of the day, which I'm am so grateful for.
When we got there to help set up I helped give out the bibs for the 1K/fun run. The girls participated in 1K/fun run. They were excited to get those bibs pined on them, but I don't know how excited they were to actually run it!
This is a picture of Elizabeth running. Both the girls did so good in their race. I was proud of them for doing this.
This is Elizabeth's school teacher. She came to run the 5K. I "ran" with her for a while but couldn't keep up with her speed. Josh came to help cook the pancake breakfast, well and eat the pancake breakfast also. The best way to get Josh to participate in an event is to feed him!
When I was about done and coming into the finish Josh had the girls holding up signs that they made for me and was there to cheer me on. I was SO tired by that point but all the cheers really did help me finish. And when I saw the timer I wanted to come in at 40 minutes so I increased my speed just a bit to make it.
I went to my Rheumatologist the other day and told him about my 5K and he was amazed. He doesn't know how I'm still moving as well as I am. And even though he is not sure how long this is going to last, he wasn't thinking it was going to last too much longer, I am looking forward to my next 5K on July 4th. I mean I already registered so I kind of have to do it. So here is to hoping that this body works for a little longer! And Thank you Josh for supporting me in my crazy ideas!
