Kids

Kids really do learn how the world works through watching their parents. The other day at dinner the girls were finishing up at the table. I was washing the dishes and Josh was clearing his dish. The girls decieded they wanted to play make believe. I don't know which one started it but they decided to play mom and dad. Elizabeth was the dad and Abby was the mom. This is somewhat how the conversation went.

Abby: I'm the mom...Honey will you carry me my leg hurts and I can't walk.

Elizabeth: Ok

WARNING: I'm Going To Gush

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Now I know that you don't like a lot of hoopla for your birthday...though you have gotten better at not hanging up on people that sing to you...but I just wanted to let everyone know just how wonderful you are....I know that this will smash some people's idea of you as being a grumpy old man but come on how long are you going to play that one!?
To celebrate your coming into this world...which I should give a side note to your wonderful mother who actually did all the work on this day and then did all the work in raising you, thank you so much Trudy for all that you do...I want you, Josh, to know some of the many reasons of why I love being married to you:
* You make me laugh...though no one else may think we are funny I think we are hilarious and love to laugh with you!
* Despite your kidding around about trading me in with the lemon law you are very protective of me and are always trying to find ways to make my life easier, even if it makes your life harder.
* You are kind, loving, generous...are you feeling pretty good about yourself yet?
I am happy to say that I have married my best friend and love you so much. You are and always will be my favorite!

Guys and Kids!

Saturday Josh, Adam and my dad took all the kids fishing. They woke up bright and early and took the kids up Provo canyon. My girls were so excited they wanted to catch a fish for me for Mother's Day. Thankfully they didn't catch anything, which Elizabeth was upset with for a long time. However, CAL was the fisherman and I heard caught over 10 fishes. They either threw them back or gave them away, though. Elizabeth still had so much fun and now wants to go fishing every Saturday morning! Abby I think she liked going along, but Josh tells me that she lost interest pretty quick, like after the first cast...She is a little bit of my indoor girl! These are some of the pictures from that day:

Going Fishing...Well Practicing Anyway!

Josh just got a fishing licence and is planning on taking the girls fishing. We got the girls polls last year and they have been in their boxes ever since! On Saturday Josh got them out for the girls to start practicing. He was teaching them how to cast. It was so cute. I love my wonderful husband and that he has a desire to spend time with our girls. They had lots of fun and can't wait until the weather gets a little better and they can go fishing with their dad!

Spring Is Here...Finally!

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not what you would call a green thumbed gardener! I think that it might be because I always forget to water and I hear that, that is an essential part of making things grow (that is just what I hear I'm not an expert by any means). So knowing this fact about me it is amazing that once a year I can pull of (and I'm tyring to be modest) a really good looking yard! Now, I do know that this is only because I don't have to do a single thing to make this happen, of course after I have planted the bulbs in the fall...wait let me correct this...after Josh has planted the bulbs in the fall! Anyway, the only reason I am sharing this is for my mother-in-law Trudy. She was up here when the bulbs were just coming up and wanted me to take pictures of the yard when it got pretty! So Trudy this is for you..P.S. It does look better in person.
Side Note/Story: So we have tulips and I have told my girls that the fairy's live in the tulips because they open in the mornings and close at night. My girls LOVE that we have fairy's living in our front yard! So about a week ago or so the girls were at my mom's house and this is the conversation that they had...
Elizabeth: Nana, Are you Indian?
My mom: Well I have some Indian in me.
Elizabeth: Because I'm half Indian! (Which for the record I never told her she is half she is only about 1/4 Indian)
Abby: Well I'm half Indian too and half Fairy!!!
Then I think she pretended to fly around!

I'm A Big Girl Now!

On April 14th Abigail turned 4 years old! Abby loves her birthday...I think it might be the presents and all the focus is on her! That day we had a special day. Josh, Abby and I went out to lunch together, then Abby and I went to the Nickel Arcade to play games, her pick of the place! The games were a little old for her but she said she had the best time. I won her a bunch of tickets and she picked out a treat for her and she even got a sucker for her sister! That evening we went over to my parents house and had a small party for her. My mom decorated with hello kitty stuff and even got pin the tail on the donkey! I have received all of my party planning skills from this woman!! Abby said she had the best birthday. A couple days later we went shopping at Walmart to spend the birthday money sent by Josh's parents and grandpa! This is my kids favorite part! Abby bought a hello kitty scooter (that Elizabeth has already tried to talk Abby out of), a new movie, and a princess beauty kit and still had a dollar left over! My girl knows how to shop! And now she is asking when her next birthday is!

This is Abigail's Video for the year. I hope all enjoy it, she is growing so fast!

Easter Activities

A few weeks ago our wonderful Aunt Lisa invited us to go to the Lehi Easter Egg Hunt! The girls had sooo much fun. It was a little crowed and chaotic but over all the girls cried when we had to leave, so I'm guessing that they liked it! After a small taste of swimming the girls can't wait for summer even more! Thank you Aunt Lisa for planning and invited us!

Easter morning the easter bunny leaves a trail of candy from the girls door all the way to their easter baskets. This year the bunny was smart and left baggies for the girls to pick up the candy on their way to their baskets. The girls loved all their easter treats from the easter bunny and from grandma and grandpa, thank you! Later that evening we went over to my parents house and had a easter egg hunt with my family. The kids all got lots of eggs and had fun. Deacon found the one egg with money in it! Of course I made sure he did. I think it is being the youngest and never being fast enough to get that egg that made me want Deacon to get it. Of course he was more interested in the candy then the money! Over all everyone had a good Easter!
