Witches Night Out

There is a place up here in Utah that every October they have what is called a Witches Night Out, where everyone comes dressed like a witch and shops and eats and just hangs out and watches other witches! It is so much fun. So my sister's and I have made it a tradition to go to this event. This is our 2nd annual Witches Night Out! This year my mom decided to go with us. Of course she didn't dress the part with us but I think we have her convinced to dress up next year, fingers crossed.
We start the evening with going to dinner. This I think might be the best part of the whole night! We go fully dressed in our witches outfits and let me tell you we get a few stares and comments! This year we went to the Cheesecake factory. We ordered enough food to feed a small country...leftovers! After dinner we headed over to Gardner's Village where the main event takes place. There had to be hundreds of witches there, of all ages! And when I say of all ages I mean of ALL ages. From babies to children to teenagers to housewives to grandmas, they are all dressed up! I personally love to see the grandma witches they are my favorite. I think that they remind me that your never too old to have fun!
The best part of the evening was my mother running after a guy dressed like a cat with leather pants and what I think was a leotard, dancing to the music! She said she just wanted to get a good look at him! Another highlight to the night was this picture of my mom with these two witches!

All and all the night was a blast. I can't wait for next year we are already starting to plan out my mom's costume!!

Video Of The Year!!

Twice a year Josh's work has a roundtable meeting that lasts two days. All of the salesmen fly into town to come to this meeting. Since we moved up here to Utah the office girls have put together some big performance for the roundtable. I love this office staff! This year they had me video tape it and put it on a DVD for them to show it for the meeting, rather then perform it live! Elizabeth made a special appearance in it and it is so funny! So here it is in all of its glory...

Parent/Teacher Conference

Last week was Elizabeth's first Parent/Teacher conference at school. In her school they invite the child to come with the parents to talk with the teacher, so Elizabeth and I went to see how she is really doing in school! Elizabeth's teacher started off telling us what she liked about Elizabeth. She said that Elizabeth is kind to everyone no matter the person, that she is always on task and gets her work done in a timely manner. At this I did have to ask, "Now we are talking about Elizabeth Tippetts right?" Elizabeth doesn't have the best attention span for me, but apparently she uses it all up during school hours! After telling us all the wonderful things about Elizabeth then she went through the things that she needs work on. She needs to work on writing her name and some of the sounds of the letters. I really couldn't blame her for the lack of knowing the sounds because I couldn't tell you the sounds myself! But we are both working on them more now. All and all Elizabeth is doing good in school. She likes her teacher and she likes her friends! For a Parent/Teacher conference it went pretty good.

The World According To Abigail Tippetts Part II

The other day my mom was watching Abby and they were upstairs in her house putting things away. Abby takes my mom's hand and says, "I like helping old people!" I think my mom really appreciated that one!

We went to Wal-mart the other day as a family to pick up a new game to play for FHE and Abby was sitting in the cart (of course, she's too good to walk!) I looked down at her and her face is just covered in food from dinner. I say to her, "Abby did you know your face is a mess!?!" Abby just gives me a look and says, "I can't see my face, Actually my eyes are by my nose, MOM!" I really had nothing to say after that!

Yesterday, my mom came over and had bought Abby a new outfit. It was Hello Kitty from head to toe. Let's just say she really liked it. With the outfit came a Hello Kitty purse! She grabbed that purse and didn't let go of it the whole night! She ran up stairs and proceeded to find things to put into her purse. She got her sunglasses, a case for her sunglasses, toy keys, a old cell phone, and then she came to find me and asked, "Mom, do you have any money in your purse?" I said, "No I don't have any money." Abby thinking I wasn't being entirely honest said, "Yes you do mom." Abby ran to get her piggy bank and emptied her two quarters out of it to be put into her purse! Then later that evening Josh took the girls out to eat and at the restaurant she had to have her purse with her and Josh tells me that she placed her purse down on the seat right next her, just like mommy does! She really wants to be a big girl!
